Jazslings Owner Introduction

This will be my first Site as the new owner of Jazslings. Each month I hope to provide Jazsling followers some advice and thought provoking issues relevant to parents. Of course you must put up with just a little promotional details about Jazslings, nonetheless as a midwife I am enthusiastic about providing parents with information that allows them to make knowledgeable choices and my hints will be focusing on what’s greatest for Mum, Dad and the little ones.

Firstly, a little bit about me. I am originally from the united kingdom and emigrated to Australia in 2002 with my husband and, then, 7yr old son. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 23 years and together we have had the privilege of bringing up our son, who will be turning 21 in just over a week. Where's the time gone!!! It only seems like yesterday that we were taking him home from hospital for the first time with feelings of delight and apprehension. 21 years after and we have been only about to face quite similar feelings as we wave goodbye to our now young man that will be leaving your family nest quite soon ready to set out on his own life adventures. And so the circle of life continues.

Both my husband and I have careers which involve supporting families and we are both conscious that the complexities of life may lead to issues for a lot of people. We're enthusiastic about supporting parents and kids with compassion and understanding. Jazslings is a business and of course my intention would be to continue its success, however it is possible to be rest assured that the customer’s best interest will always be our priority.

Please follow me through this journey and I trust you'll find it grow and evolve into a brand new start. You will find already some new designs and products which is coming to you shortly so watch this space!

Hip Carry Position Babyslings (From About 5 Months Of Age)
When your infant has good head control they may need to see more and you are able to put them in your hip. This carry can be utilized from about 5 months. Place your baby in the sling with their bottom in your hip. The seam should be on babies back and the fabric distribute around babies legs into the knees creating the best frog M spot which means that baby’s knees are higher up than his underside and that his legs are spread apart ca. 90°. Their legs should protrude in the sling and straddle your side. Note the legs must be higher than the bottom to avoid pressure on the legs.

Dear all,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Lucy and I am the new owner of Jazslings.
I am really excited about working with the wonderful, long standing customers that have been supporting Jazslings for many years and meeting new customers along the way.

I have been a midwife for 16 years and I am passionate about supporting and being involved with families during their transition to parenthood. The Jazsling baby sling is designed to ensure your baby feels safe, secure and calm and promotes feelings of closeness by enhancing the parent – infant bond.
In the future Jazslings will be selling more products that focus on these principles during pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

I will also be providing regular pregnancy, parenting tips and information along the way.

Easy steps to breastfeed your babies using baby wrap and baby sling!

Breastfeeding Using Baby Wrap

The Happy Wrap allows you to nurse comfortably and discreetly anytime anywhere. With our soft stretchy fabric, you don’t have to loosen or untie the wrap to breastfeed your baby.

1. Move the shoulder strap.
2. Lower your baby into a comfortable nursing position.
3. Reach under the shoulder strap and lift your breast so your baby can latch on. (Mothers with large breasts may need to continually support the breast.)
4. For extra privacy, spread the shoulder strap to cover yourself and your baby.

Your baby should remain in a vertical position while nursing. If you prefer, you can take the baby out of the wrap and use the “x” as a cover up while you nurse.

Breastfeeding Using Baby Pouch Sling

This position is very useful for full term newborns (>3.6kg) and throughout their first months as the Jazslings fully supports the baby. Place baby in a semi upright position. The seam is where the baby’s bottom should be and if you want to sit the baby up move the seam around towards the left. If you find it more comfortable to feed in a more horizontal position, then move the seam to the right. Move the sling side which is against your body to the side of your breast so you can feed comfortably. To feed baby on your right side, move the sling around so your baby is in the ‘football hold’ position, baby’s legs will be wrapped around your right hip. When finished, position the baby in the front facing carry position.

Remember to always keep a close watch on your baby while breastfeeding and move your baby’s face away from your breast when he/she is no longer actively nursing.

The Advantages of Rests for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers

A Napping Child is a Learning Kid

A most recent study found that infants showed higher degrees of learning and memory after being instructed if they took a long rest right after the lesson was done.

All infants rested soundly during the night, but only those who'd also napped during the day recalled what they had discovered twenty-four hours afterwards.

The lead researcher explained The New York Times, “These findings needs an additional research but perhaps babies lose some tips if they don't rest after learning.”

It isn't only their brains which are developing; it’s their bodies also.

But when small ones go through periods of rapid growth, they desire over extra food. They desire additional sleep also. Lots of their development is occurring while they’re sleeping, so depriving them of that time affects them physically just as much as emotionally.

A Rested Child is a Well-Behaved Child

If the kid doesn't have a proper sleep they'll be contending with additional fussiness, whining, and tantrum-throwing. Research backs up one study conducted at the University of Colorado, Boulder analyzed toddlers as they were ending puzzles. When they missed their routine 90-minute rest, the children have attested 31% increase in negative psychological answers when they were not able to complete a particularly demanding puzzle. In addition, they revealed a 34% decrease in favorable emotional reactions after completing an easier one.

To put it differently, with no remainder, their negative emotions were raised, while their positive ones were dulled. As described by a scientist Dr. Monique LeBourgeouis, “Tired kids are not able to contend with day to day challenges in their worlds.”

A rested child is a well behaved and happy child. And a well behaved and happy kid gets a considerably more elated mother, too.

A Daytime Sleeper is a Much Better Nighttime Sleeper
I’ve heard tons of folks say they do not prioritize their youngsters' remainders because the daytime snooze sessions help their infants and toddlers sleep better at night.

But that’s not really true.

Depending on the St. Louis Children’s Hospital, skipping rests typically results in a child that's overtired by bedtime. And while you’d consider an overtired child will fall asleep quickly and readily, the reverse is frequently true: They start behaving stressed, irritable, and wired, making bedtime more of a struggle.
